I don't have an AX8 and never owned any other FA devices but curious what preset communites have been created for the AX8 at this point and if there is one community that is better than the rest for this. I have visited a few (offical Axe-Change) and there are tons for the other models but not the AX8 - Is there a way for other versions to be converted.

Trying to justify (at least in my mind LOL) an AX8 and don't really want to start from scratch.

For reference, main use is Church P&W(Bethel, Hillsong etc) ,.8 delay (U2ish) alot of ambient stuff (shimmer, mod).

There is the FracTool that you can convert Axe Fx presets to work with AX8. I have had hit and miss results using it but I am a total Fractal newbie. There is an aX8 section on the AXCHange page, but there are not many there. I hope it grows.

Best thing you can do if you ever get an AX8 is buy the FREMEN packs.

As for free one there are a few that has been shared in the Fractal forum in the preset section of the AX8 thread.

Nic and I agree. The Freman packs are like $20. Best money you will ever spend.

Personally I haven't felt the need for aftermarket AX8 presets.
There are hundreds of amps...I haven't even scratched the surface and I have more than enough gig worthy tones.
I started with the Dirty Shirley and didn't need anything else...ah ha.
    Really incredible unit.

The one big thing that getting the Fremen presets did for me on my Axe Fx is let me dissect them and figure out how the unit works. I am so much better at programming my own presets now because of the Fremen purchase. It especially helped me understand modifiers which I think are what really make the Fractal line stand out. And scenes but as of a couple of days ago those are no longer a Fractal only thing.

I just converted the entire Axe-Fx factory presets (384 patches) to AX8 format using FracTool - so cool. If you want, PM me and I can zip and send your way.

It's nice to listen to guys demo the many Axe-Fx presets on YouTube and be able to run most on the AX8.

I also did that manually (no Fractool then) for Fractal but they have not been released yet. Note that many presets can't be converted because they are too complex. Fractool is very nice and practical but for many presets a human intervention is necessary, to save CPU cycles and think out of the box etc.

I did the same thing with Singtall on my 11R. Learning pre and post EQ saved my life.

There are almost 450 presets for the AX8 on the Axe Change.
