What are some recommendations for getting "that British tone" in a small amp format (i.e. 112, 210, etc.).

Interpret "that British tone" as you want ;)

Not really sure how you determine small amp by speaker configuration. You can get some monster amps as 1x12 combos.
But if you're just after low watt amps then - Marshall Class 5

Sounds like you are looking for a combo. Take a look at a Budda SD18 combo. Quite a bit of British flavor can be had. The amps are fairly common and offer great value on the used market. Tremendous tone and versatility. Don't you already own a Vox AC30?

My personal favorite for a small British style is a BC Audio No. 7 combo. It is not cheap but it kills (in a good way). Another that sounds great is the Carr Mercury. Again, not inexpensive.

TopHat Club Royale-20w EL-84 into either 1x12 or 2x12
light weight, 1 channel, no reverb

Voxy or Marshally depending on the way you use the mid control

I have a 65 Amps Lil Elvis that definitely covers some of the great British tones! :)

Also, I was listening to some clips of a few of the 3rd Power amps that lean toward the British side of the tracks. They sounded great. Worth checking out.

I do own an AC30. It is boss, but it is BIG and I'm like 5'5". Can't move it by myself. If I could get that tone in a 112 or 210 format, I'd be golden.
