Just because it got beat to death does not make it a bad song. Songwriters don't kill songs, radio stations do

Yes, not my bag. I like LZ a lot, but that is not among my favorites.

Imagine if HOTH was called "The Crunge" as they originally planned!

Zep were an album band. The songs work best in context, not isolation.

    Best: Physical Graffiti
Worst: In Through the Out Door

Best- Over and the Hills Away. It's what LZ was all about- great dynamics, interesting time changes, a great riff, the acoustic/electric thing.

Worst-Dyer Mker- just a stupid song not worthy of them

Worst - Nobody's fault but mine, the crunge, all of my love

really though the period from IV to Houses of the Holy to Physical Graffiti (1971-1975) has got to be the most insanely good 3 album period of any band. they were truly possessed and at the peak of their powers musically and artistically. Even the beatles never had a run like that unless you skipped magical mystery tour and yellow submarine (revolver - white album - abbey road though... nothing wrong with that!)

They were going for and completely missed any James Brown vibe on that IMO.

Gonna go with the obvious and say best is Kashmir.

Worst is Fool in the Rain.

Edit: I meant to say worst is All of My Love. I dont care for Fool in the Rain either but, it has a bit more going for it.

Check out (if you havent) some James Brown. Zeps "groove" missed by a mile.

JB songs never really went anywhere either. Thats why the confounded bridge comments in the Zep song are so funny.
