Curious to hear what you think.
Favourite would be Lucky, lots of fond memories of that one, particularly it being the opening number of their set at the previously dismal Glastonbury '97. Made all the mud and misery worthwhile...
They don't really have a song I dislike - a few I gloss over but nothing I really want to nominate as worst.
I swear I have only ever heard two Radiohead songs and they were both pretty bad.
I figured everyone could at least find one favorite or less-hated song by just about any band. But I guess this line of reasoning was wrong!
Off the top of my head:
Worst - Morning Bell
Best - Reckoner
It would be fun to do the same for the Dead. It would be "there are no bad songs, you just don't understand them"
Best song: Paranoid Android (it's the obvious choice, but it really is their Bohemian Rhapsody)
Honorable mention: Spectre
Worst Song: Knives out (I find nothing good about this song).
Best: Climbing Up Walls
Worst: I don't know enough of their catalog to choose one.
best - Paranoid Android
worst - What Is That You See?
Worst: Pop is Dead
For a band whose career has spanned 25 years, have released 9 studio albums, countless singles, and have radically changed their sound multiple times, do you really think that listening to two songs is sufficient to pass judgment?
HE LEFT THIS MESSAGE FOR US!
guilty pleasure that one. sure it’s naff, but it’s fun hearing them all Brit-poppy
You could say the same thing about literally hundreds, if not thousands, of bands.
I heard two songs that didn't cause me to want to dig further. They had their chance.
I may have heard other things by them, but am not sure. I might hear something by them I like, who knows?
But so far, it didn't work out.
I bought OK first and almost gave up as well. Luckily, I bought Kid A second and it's still my favorite album from them.
I like OK more now, but just don't like the whole album. Thom had a nervous breakdown and the band almost broke up (NME article) creating Kid A. He never got what everyone was going gaga over OK was about. Me neither.
I never cared for Radiohead until I saw them at Bonnaroo in 2006. They instantly became one of my favorite bands. I still can't hear Karma Police without memories of 80,000 singing along and swaying in time. I don't know that I could name a best, but Morning Bell is pretty terrible.
Best: Everything In Its Right Place
Worst: I Can't
Favorite: Pyramid Song
Least favorite: Pulk/Pull Revolving Doors
Morning Bell is f’kin awesome.
Jonny’s coin / strings trick at the end is worth the price of entry alone.
You should know better than to say "best" on TGP. People get pretty riled up over that word.
That being said, I really like Everything in its Right Place from Kid A and 2+2=5 from Hail to the Thief.
N.B. there are two Morning Bells. And neither is terrible.
there are not thousands of bands as important/influencial/critically-acclaimed/good (take your pick) as Radiohead
