    Digital - DD20, RE20, MM hazarai, Digilog

Analog - Keeley AD-9, Memory Man, Might be able to get an AD999 for that used.

    :)

You might find a DLS echo tap - I got mine off of ebay for right around 200. Good sounding pedal.

The Analogman AR20DL is a pretty cool delay...not a lot of features but great analog tone...

hands down NOVA DELAY!!! Very crisp, but not versitle. Don't get the dl4 enless you can stand to have no high end and a massive volume drop.

Used DM-2. I'm sure the DMM is cool too, but haven't spent enough time with one.

The new MXR Carbon Copy for $149 with 600ms and modulation certainly looks promising. I am anxious to check one out when they are available.

the majority of popular delays are less than $250 so you shouldn't have a problem. dmm can be had for less than that used which leaves the mad professor, t rex, moog, and toneczar the only ones i can think of off the top that are out of reach. in other word there are a lot to choose from, try as many as possible and do a search on this sight for more insight. The suggestions above are good pedals to start with.
what kind of features, bells and whistles, etc are you interested in? what style of music?

You know, there aren't that many delay pedals OVER 250.00 :D

Replica is all I can really think of. Maybe a DMM.

    @200-250 RE-20, DD-20, Nova Delay.

If you want a sweet analog delay, the new BYOC ping pong one is sweet. But really, my fave delays are: Replica, RE-20, Nova...

If I could afford one, I'd love a MXR System II :D

Nova Delay or DD-3 if you need one good sound.

I picked up a boss dd-20 for around 160 on ebay. It sounds really good and the dry stays analog and only the repeats are digital. It was sort of hard to use at first but once I figured out which sounds were good it is very versatile.

    I'm slightly surprised no one
has mentioned the Akai Headrush E2.
GREAT delay sound, if you ask me.

I use that and the DD-20.
    Both serve their functions admirably.

Best of luck in your search.

I picked up a DeLayla used for $150. You might be able to pick up 2 nice used delays for $250!

    DD-20 for digital
Used ad999 or ad900 for analog should do the trick
