I run my silver jubilee 2553 through a 212 cab with 2 Celestion Classic Lead 80's and they work well for me.

I think a Celestion G12-65 or a Scumback M75-HP-LHDC would be the way to go. I would recommend a G12H30 type speaker but those are only rated at 30 Watts....

I assume it's a 50 watt but being a single speaker combo you're choices are a tad limited...a G12-65 (or clone) would be my first choice, or maybe a plain old Vintage 30...there are other Celestions to pick from...Classic Lead 80, G12T-75, Modern Lead 70, G12H100, etc but the 65 would be my first choice, you could also look into the dozen plus offerings from Eminence but Im not really that familar with them.

I think that this amp go far more than 50 watts i would say like 80 or 90 watts

V30s came in the 1x12 amps. and they were 50watts. Remember, its a master volume amp, few actually crank it to 10 to get the distortion.

Either way, after years of experimenting, the v30s just sounded right to me for that amp.

Same here, I've plugged mine into my 2 x 12"s and 4 x 12" and my Bogner Cube, and could never find any reason to replace the stock speaker.

I would try an Austin Speaker Works 70hz speaker. I believe it will handle 70-80 watts and they sound like a killer Celestion, but they have their own thing going. I use 4 of them in different cabs.

the best speaker ever made for those amps and the jmp/800's is the Fane AXA12 if you can find one at an affordable price. Perfeect for the 1x12 situation too with its 100w rating. I'm convinced they were designed for use with the jmp/800 amps which are very similar to yours in character. I never looked back since fitting one to my 4010 combo.

One that I was using in my 2558 (2x12 jube) was the Eminence Private Jack. Greenback flavor with a higher power rating. I really liked it, much more than the stock speakers. I think it's rated at 50, and your amp is too.... so that could be a judgement call on your part.

well its clear and obvious that Jim really knows his speakers, and although I have never had the pleasure, I'm quite sure that, from everything I have read from people I respect, you will find killer tones in his products.

Many consider the Jubilee series to be a quiet amp. I know my 2555 (which was near mint and clean as could be) felt more like a 35/80 head. My 2558 was nice as well. I know my %13 SJT 10/20 easily kept up with the 2555. :) Nice amps, enjoy!

Good suggestions. Im looking into a higher efficiency speaker for my mini jube combo. The greenback is great but looking for something similar thats gonna have higher db rating like a v30 or something. Anyone ever use an eminence gb128? Or a g12h30? Im leaning towards v30 but some of these sugggestions like private jack and scumback are worth looking at
