I've noticed a slight preference for T-types with the wider 1-11/16ths width at the nut. I can and do adjust to the very common 1-5/8ths, but I find that some things are just easier/cleaner with slightly more room.

I've got a 2001 Fender "American Series" with replaced electronics, but unfortunately also in crap shape regarding a couple of dead spots on the neck. I'm going to see if the dead spots are easy to address (problem solved!), but...

...in the meantime I'm curious about really good T types that are easy to find in a 1-11/16ths configuration.

I'm familiar with, and love, Danocaster, GVCG, and Suhr T types. Have owned a few Rices and K-Lines and they were cool but it was long ago and I don't remember the details about them. Had an Old World which rocked, but it was also 1-5/8ths.

I'm digging around for my own answer, of course, but any info on builders I'm not familiar with would be great.

I am really enjoying my Whitfill blackguard. If you are into relics call Cliff at DAG and you wont be sorry.

You can replace the neck on any Tele with a Warmoth 1 -11/16" width. I put one together and love that neck width on a Tele.

I have a killer Suhr with the wider nut. You can certainly tell the difference.

    wow...talk about perfect timing -

Yesterday, I played a Tom Anderson Hollow T, used, with 1 11/16th neck (even taper +.030). This was the perfect neck (for me). I definitely prefer this nut width.

Now, unfortunately, I feel like I have to get a TAG Tele...aaarrrgghhhh

I could go back and buy this used one. Maybe I should...it was perfect.

So, if you're looking for a great playing tele with the referenced nut width, can't go wrong with a TAG

Special order. I love that Suhr will build what you want. It is amazing to me how much bigger the 50's round neck carve feels with the wider nut width. I have both and it is immediately apparent.

I've had two G&Ls with that giant neck they use. Careful... you may just love it!

I bought a guitar and a couple of necks with 1-11/16" width at the nut, and I like them and all, but I bought them to get wider string spacing and the manufacturers just used the same string spacing that they use on 1-5/8" necks. That's three new nuts and nobody in town trustworthy to make them. Dammit.

Something must be in the air. I have been building a lot of 1 11/16" nut Truxtons lately. Many do it, just pick your flavor.

I wish my electric had a 1 11/16" nut. Chords like 220220 are just a bit too cramped on 1 5/8".

I had a Tom Anderson with a 1-11/16" that was a great guitar. Currently I have a '12 Am Std Tele with the 1-11/16" & Callaham bridge that is a great guitar.

Most of the smaller builders will make you what you want. 1 5/8" nut, 1 21/32" nut, 1 11/16" nut, etc. Tuttle, Anderson, Grosh, K-Line, Danocaster, to name a few will all make guitars with 1 11/16" nuts.

What's your default string spacing on the nut on a 1 11/16 neck?

1 11/16" is my standard nut width, no problem doing a T with that.

    Yes ldizzle... yes...

OP - You're looking at some SUPER high quality stuff and I'll first off say I have in the past been a G&L fanboy and I left them and now I am back so... having said that... I am NOT one to say they're on the same level as some of what you and others have mentioned. HOWEVER, my latest G&L ASAT Classic has a 1 11/16 nut and my goodness... its wonderful... I can't really say I've played a better Tele...
