I have a Peavey 1x12 Sheffield cab that seems to be the perfect size. It's currently housing a Celestion Alnico Blue but my Vox amp search is currently on hold (budgetary concerns) so I'm most likely going to sell the speaker. I'm looking to use the 1x12 in the following ways:
    1. Fender: extension cab for my SF Champ, might try to Y the speaker cable somehow to have the internal 8" AND the 1x12 run together if possible OR make the Champ a head chassis and sell the cab.
    2. Marshall: a secondary cab for my Fargen miniplex. I will be getting my Marshall 1965b 4x10 soon, but I'd still like the option of running the Farge through the 1x12 for a change of pace/small jam situation, etc...
    3. Vox: someday when funds are replenished I'd like to grab a Winfield Cyclone or possibly Frenzel AC15 clone to complete the "collection" and run it through the 1x12
So, a 12" speaker that can work with Fender, Marshall, Vox, preferably 8ohms and at least 15 - 30 watts at a decent price (~$100 or less)... that's not too much to ask, is it?

I've been really liking the G12K-85s I picked up. I've played them in 4x12, 2x12cab/combo and 1x12's and thought they sounded good mixed or together. I've used them with a plexi, Two Rock, 6v6 Wreck head, Fargen Bordeaux, Train 45 a Laney GH100l and a few others, but in a closed back 2x12 with a G12H30 they sound really balanced and tight with all those amps. I picked up 4 for $100 and have had great luck with them.

    That's $100 per speaker, right?

+1 for the H30'S get the hellatones.. ;) even cheaper per speaker than celestion h30 and its the same speaker

I would also add to the list the h75 scumbacks. These speakers work great on every application I have tried them with. I played many many amps with the h75's and they just work every time for me. It is my "go to" speaker now. but over $100.00

If my amps range anywhere from 6 watt ouput to 30 watt (thinking ahead) what type of wattage rating should I be looking at with the speaker itself? I assume H30 is 30 watts max while G12-85 is 85 watts max?
Also, I think the champ is 4ohm? Can I even run that into an 8ohm speaker?

Gasp, that was $100 for all 4! Gotta love craigslist sometimes.

if you are going to push 30 watts through one speaker I would at least get a 50 watter.
