I am slowly making the transition from the Mesa tone to Bogner.

I am currently quite happy with the Stiletto Deuce Stage II Head. But I hear all the ravings about the Ecstacy....am just wondering if it is worth the extra $$$s.

To date, I haven't come across a better lead tone than that of the Stiletto Fluid Drive mode, channel 2. It beats out my Mark IV IMO.

I think the Stiletto is an exceptional amp....but just wondering if it gets any better with the Ecstasy.....or is it just hype!

Unfortunately, Bogner amps are hard to come by in local shops and the Ecstacy even more so. I ususally only find Duendes, Ubers, and sometimes Shivas....so, initially I have to go based on opinions. I wiould have to track one down eventually before buying, however. But right now I'm just in the exploratory stage.

    What's your opinions?

The Stiletto Deuce is a great sounding amp, and the only Mesa I've ever liked. The Bogner is more flexible and it does sound better, but not enough to justify the extra cost, IMHO. Spend your money on another guitar instead! ;-)

The Mesa is a great amp but the Bogner just gets a better lead tone IMO.

the Mesa has a good lead tone for sure, the Bogners defintely creamier with more sag, the Deuce II is quicker to respond...
But that Blue channel in the EC is in a class of its own.
The Deuce is brighter and cant compare to the Bogners tone/feel IMHO.
You want a lead tone to die for?? Try a Louis Electric KR12. DONE:drink

I have had the Deuce V1, and an Ace. I got rid of the Ace for the latest Ecstasy 101b. IMO, it was not close the Bogner was much more to my tastes. Smoother and less spikey.

I'm going to have to go with the Stiletto. I've had a Stage I and it was horrid, but I acquired a Stage II Deuce and, let me tell you, I don't think I'd trade it for anything.

I'd say stick with it. I can't justify the extra cost for a tone closely achieved by your current setup. Just mho.

XTC, for sure. Much easier feeling, more "bendable!". Awesome feel, its lets you play like you want, doesnt restrict you. Sounds cooler for lead also. And the blue channel is amazing. This is coming from a guy who has sworn by mesa boogie for a solid 10 years.

This. Except the $$ part. No one can justify that but you.
It's up to YOU if the XTC sounds that much $$ better.

For me it would. Had I the disposable income.

Try an xtc red pedal through your stiletto. Could be a cheaper solution that gets you both tones.
