Better tone with two mediocre tones?

I've noticed two amps tweaked in unison for great tone can sound a bit ***** individually. So, could it be that two meh amps can provide a superior tone to a quality amp on its own? Well, meh with decent dynamic response. D'oh did I just upgrade meh. So tgp of me.

You proved it! I say yes. Maybe the amps are canceling out each other's undesirable frequencies. That's the best theory I have. Enjoy the two amp attack!

"I like it a lot"
I checked this out with modeling as well. Old dg-stomp and a MustangFloor. Currently running tube amp with the modelers(wdw). The cab sims make some serious hugeness at friendly db's. It's like multiple amps on zep recordings.

Yes, it is possible, cool that it worked out that way. It can also suck and cancel out a lot of frequencies.
