Are these a muff style fuzz? Are there any pedals with a similar circuit out there?
It's nothing like a Big Muff. It has more of a gated, ripping velcro sound to it. It's one of my favorite pedals on my board.
I built this clone and it sounds incredible.
Here's a clip of my Chunky Cheese clone:
The Big Cheese is a great and versatile fuzz, but nothing at all like a Muff.
Here's a gratuitous and sloppy picture:
How did the Chunky Cheese compare to the original?
It's pretty close - nearly spot on.
The OLC captures the all the modes from light spittle to the heavily gated/ zippery fuzz characteristic of the original with a much better and more reliable switch.
Cool thanks! I wanted to order order one of these awhile back. Thanks!
The basic circuit is a buffer driving a fuzzface derivative and then a tone control on the output.
