1. The Gear Page is run by musicians for musicians. We listen, we learn and if we misstep we are not afraid to do the right thing. We proposed some changes to the Emporiums. Based on feedback from members, we have decided to not go ahead with those changes. However, it has also highlighted that we need some community input into what is working and what is not working for members here. Primarily focused on the Emporiums, we'd like input on your thoughts about TGP and how things work in the Emporiums for you and how you'd improve them. The discussion thread on the is here!

my fav tone of all time. my menatone TBIAC (set mostly clean) being hit with an old script dyna comp into brown fender amps gets me close - w/ a tele in the middle position.

remember, at least 50% of that sound was the LA2 compressor they used all over Radio City. not LA2A but LA2.

i've had most of them, and prefer the current, handwired 4-knobber. i think i play a little big star on this demo, though i wasn't trying to nail the exact big star tone on this demo:

Great sound on that demo vanguard, definitely gets in the Chilton ballpark.

I'm pretty sure my favorite Chilton tone and playing is the solo on Way Out West. Is that a 12 string, or is he just that cool??

EDIT: Ha, had to add, your VB-2 demo playing Blur's Tender is awesome also. Where's a guy with your taste when i need to start a band!!

    cheers

    That's where I get it.

Strat>Compressor>Tim (low gain or off)>Vibrolux Reverb gets me there.

My favorite strat tones, along with early Knopfler.
