That is the most extensive tour of the US Big Wreck have done as headliners since reforming (possibly ever from what I can tell; any idea Buk?)

Good to see and I'll definitely catch it. They are a great live band with a pristine and vibrant sound in concert.

I'm a little surprised there hasn't been more immediate response here to this news.

I survived a drive through Atlanta
I expected them at a bigger venue in Nashville than Mercy Lounge. It'll be crowded, but I'll try to make that one.

Back in the 90's they toured pretty extensively, but you're probably right... not as a headliner!

I'll hit the Rochester or Watertown (probably Rochester) show for sure.

This is shaping up to be a good summer, King's X in July and Big Wreck in the fall!

Didn’t their guitar player just pass away?

Co-founding 2nd guitar Brian Doherty did recently pass. Ian Thornley is the main songwriter/soloist/vocalist and is in top form.

    What!?? No Sacramento show??

    :FM

I'll be at the SF show for sure. They rarely get to the Left Coast.

Oh, and thanks to BUK for bringing this to our attention.

I guess the Denver show is as close as it gets to Northern Utah... hell, it's only 500 miles... I'm thinking about it.

Awesome - the only time I saw them was opening up for Dada in the late 90s

With all due respect to Brian, I don't think he participated in any recordings or writing after the second album. Big Wreck isn't really a band from a collaborative sense. Ian calls the shots, writes the songs, plays and sings almost every track in the studio. The other guys are just there to do what he tells them.

Not entirely accurate. Ideas and riffs, discussion of arrangements were all part of the mix since the reunion before Albatross. True on the studio stuff. Ian's the boss.
