Hey everyone,

I'm psyched to let you know that I'm going to be interviewing Bill Frisell for an OutsideGuitar podcast in Mid-November.

The first two podcasts have featured Marc Ribot and and Paul Rigby (the guitarist for Neko Case.)

SUPER Psyched to get to interview Bill - the last podcasts have yielded some really interesting questions and conversations (all the questions come from outsideguitar.com subscribers), and Marc and Paul went deeply into their approaches to music and improvisation, and I think some things that you don't normally get in most interviews.

You can hear the previous podcasts here:

Enjoy!

yo!

I'm meeting with Bill next Tuesday, so if you have any questions....

1. Would Bill ever consider doing a Christmas album?
2. Will Bill, Kermit and Joey ever record as a trio again?
3. Would Bill ever consider doing a video for https://www.mymusicmasterclass.com/
4. Are there any young guitarist Bill listens to or is excited about?
5. When is Bill and Julian Lage going to record an album together?
6. I know Bill loves the Carr Sportsman, but has he used it on any recordings?
7. I know Bill was a Jim hall fan and friend. Has he heard the tribute album by Rale Micic with Lage Lund, Peter Bernstein and John Abercrombie? If so any words?
8. If he had to pick one album for someone to listen to of his who did not know his music which album would he pick?
9. Any updates about a release date on his documentary?

For starters!

I hate asking gear questions to guitars but I'd make an exception... I need to know what is the signal chain his electric guitar is on the tune "Throughout" which was on the "In Line" album.

With it being recorded in Oslo I imagine mostly studio provided but MAN!

Congrats Aram! Would you mind to ask him how he first became familiar with Rick Kelly's guitars?

Fiiiiiiiiinally got this done!!! Woohoo!

Bill and I geek out about about guitars, particularly all the connections that emanate from one guitar shop in Manhattan, Carmine Street Guitars, where master luthier Rick Kelly makes his telecasters and stratocasters. We also talk about Jim Jarmusch, Voidoids and Lou Reed guitarist Robert Quine, the art of practicing and pedals, in addition to other questions asked by outsideguitar.com subscribers. Half the episode is here. Get the other half by subscribing at www.outsideguitar.com. Check it out!
