    on a strat!

    edit - just noticed the lack of a traditional volume knob (placement wise) on the strat. very cool.

    Yeah, the Strat surprised me too. Since this is the gear page, the rig was:

    Strat->EHX Freeze->TC Electronic Hall of Fame Reverb->Line 6 DL4.

    He also had a generic tuner pedal and an overdrive made by Audiolex which was never switched on.

    The amp was the same Fender combo that I saw him use last year on the Beautiful Dreamer tour.

    Beautiful! Thanks for the link. Bill's phrasing is so unique, just smooth as silk. I have a strat without that one knob as well; many like it because you don't accidentally hit it. Anyone else notice all the cool stuff in the background on the shelves??

    Looks to be a sunburst '57 Reissue. Frisell had a '57 Reissue way back in '85 according to his Guitar Player interview of the period, and I remember it being reported to be a sunburst. So I wonder if this is the same guitar.

    What kind of looper is he using, and do you think some of it was pre recorded/ programmed?

    great musician, kept me going in the early 90s, I really like his earlier skronkier stuff, but he is the consummate guitarist, I play guitar, he plays music
