Just came across this video today...man this is devastating
Glad to see he's still doing well
Bill Withers is just soooooo damn smooth.
He sounds exactly the same after all these years. Live at Carnegie Hall is such a fantastic show. I love how at the end of Use Me, the crowd doesn't stop cheering, so he says "one more time? one more time." and goes right back into it.
Man, if I could sing like that.....
......I'd be buried up to my eyebrows in money and gorgeous women.
Use Me is one of my all time favorite songs. Bill is the master and it translates to many genres.
(if you don't like bass solos, skip ahead to 3:00) Nice solo by Neal Alger as well.
I've always liked this one - probably watched this 100 times!
Bill is the man. Soul through and through.
That was BAAADDDDAAAASSS!
great version of a wonderful tune! Thanks
Glad you liked it. Patricia is an acquired taste, and I love her music. I took some lessons from Neal when I lived in Chicago. Check out some other Patricia stuff. He's a killer.
I still like ain't no sunshine the best. Funny I got reminded of that song the other day when I heard Me first and the gimmie gimmies cover it, slightly different flavor than the original.
and of course
And here we have tangible evidence of what's missing from modern music......
