Here in Temple Texas we call that the "sound of freedom".
(We are next to Fort Hood Texas!)
I can identify the Apache, Blackhawk, and Chinook by sound.
(Then again, I flew Blackhawks for several years in the Army, 2 in a "Heavy Attack" Apache unit)
Don't fret man! If they "wancha, they gotcha"!!!!
("Don't bother running", "you'll just die tired"!)

    Hooah! Semore
    (I miss it every day!)

Black helos are different than blackhawks... see my last post... they are mission-specific. You should know that!!!

Thank you for your service my brother

What specific mission would that be 100? I should know that? Why should I know that?
You confuse me? I think you may not know what you think you know? I knew no details about other unit missions other than my own. (Only after the fact when good or bad things happened)
I've flown "Deep Battle" with Apaches at night, then delivered chow to FARPS (Forward Air Refueling Points) the hopped over to "Sling Load" "Fuel Blivets" on the same mission day.
Do you mean literally different than Blackhawks? They could be Army "Lakota's". They were just fielded as I retired.
Could be law enforcement? Yes, could be U.S. Customs, Border patrol, F.B.I..
You wanna see some "Black helicopters"? You should have been in Iraq with me in 2004-2005!!! Or Afghanistan in 2006-2007.

Not tryin to bust your chops man, but how much do you know about helicopters, military aviation, and law enforcement aviation? (I've been in military aviation for 30 plus years, 25 as an Army Warrant Officer, and I fly a jet for a company now)
I would love to hoist some beers and shoot the breeze! I would really be intrigued to hear your synopsis! (I'll bet I could tell you plenty of "nail biters" as well!
    take care, Semore

We were talking about my cousin Ed last night, he was the pilot and point guy on an attack helicopter in Vietnam
when he came back he flew helicopters commercially and took me up a few times
nothing finer than flying about 8 feet above the pacific ocean or the Sacramento River, facing down at a 45' angle, and at full throttle
for him it was a piece of cake, like he said, there was no enemy fire so it was much easier than his prior experience.

In 1976 he saved my life when I was electrocuted
    thank you Ed
    we miss you

Whoa whoa whoa there! I was not busting on you by any means! Chill my brother... I did comms for SpecOps. Many nights I flew out in all black helicopters with A or B teams.

Lighten up man... I was not attacking you at all. But when I need a taxi driver I know who to call now! Your job is to get me to the Ritz on time! My job was to close down the bar. ;)

PS... you're definitely younger than me as well, I served all over Europe North Africa Middle East Central America and Northern South America, but that was a different time. I was not challenging you but I ain't no grunt either....different eras. I've also done a ton of classified work (tres letras) while you were serving...had a "Q"

    Cool?

Do they ever morph into UFO's? That's been known to happen.

Don't worry. I glued this flag to your roof so they'll know you're alright.
