Who else is ready to be more depressed about the direction of some tech in society?

I just started watching, reaching the end of season 1. It is a tough series to binge on though.

Yes, the use of technology is depressing at times

Love most of the episodes in the first four seasons, and I thought Bandersnatch was pretty cool. Very well written series, IMO. Definitely looking forward to the new episodes :banana

Myself and anyone I talk to about this all say the same thing. Can only take it in small doses.

Oh....this is a must watch for me. I loved 80/90% of the first 4 seasons.

Awesome - can’t wait. But only 3 new shows? Boo!

I loved all but a handful of the episodes out so far. Can't wait. Entertaining and thought provoking at the same time.

When I started watching it I couldn’t help think how much it reminded me of the Twilight Zone. Then Jordan Peele came along with his actual Twilight Zone. That has a different feel, even though it gets just as dark at times. But TW’s darkness has a fantastic twist, while BM’s darkness is rooted in reality. I love both series!

    I'll be watching it.

For a more upbeat tech future i'd recommend Iain Banks Culture Series, a utopian, post-scarcity space society of humanoids, aliens, and very advanced artificial intelligences. Amazon has acquired the rights to make a TV series of the first book but there haven't been many details on how that's coming along.

This is the modern day twilight zone.

Back then, they wrote about the cutting or bleeding edge technologies and fields. Like space, aliens, computers, etc. Often with dystopian themes

Whole black mirror gives us a post apocalyptic take on technology being used against us.

I liked the social media one, the slave one with the bikes, the one with the soldiers killing poor people due to the chips in their brains making them look like monsters, and the one with the mechanical dogs.

The dog one is my favorite.

This series plays into my growing...uneasiness? With technology.

No smart locks or thermostats in my home.
    No Alexa
    No Facebook
    No siri/bixby

In the past it's been two episodes in a row max for me. Very unsettling

There certainly have been episodes that I viewed as a warning of the inevitable if we don't limit technology's reach in some areas.

I still don't get the first episode of S1. Such an odd way to start a series.

Nice! Such a great show. Spot on and definitely a bit depressing. It should be way more of a warning than it is.

As long as they steer clear of porcine romance story lines, looking forward to it.

Yes, that was exceptionally risky and probably not smart at all.

I enjoy the series, and have never gone in order. I just usually pick one based on the description and my mood. I think I've done 2 in a row max.

Watched episode one during a treadmill workout today.
Wow - some VR implications that I never contemplated. The writers really know how to take a premise and stretch it in unexpected directions.
