I recently acquired a '97 Parker Nitefly that I'm refurbishing. It's black with a black pickguard. The black pickguard has quite a few scratches and pick swirl and I was thinking of replacing it with one of these from WD Music:

Just wondering if anyone has pics of a guitar with black pearl on black just so I could get an idea of how it might look. Doesn't have to be a Parker. I only want to see that "color scheme" on an actual guitar (Strat, Tele, etc.). I've searched through the threads and the closest I found was silver pearl on black, which looked a little too tuxedo to me. Anybody?

Hmm....that's ok, but I think I'll stick with black on black.

I have a black Nitefly and when I get around to refurbishing it (Thinking about replacing the bridge bucker w/ either a Tele or Firebird p/u.) I think I'm going to go for a tortoise pickguard. How do you like your Nitefly. I have two, the black is H/H and my blue swamp ash is S/S/H. I love mine.

one of my customer builds... I thought it looked pretty good... Depends on the pattern of the pearl guard I think.[IMG]

Mine's a S/S/H and it plays like a dream. The previous owner replaced the neck and middle with Texas Specials and the bridge with a Seth Lover. I dig the sound of the TSs. They have great Strat quack and mid cut, which I like. The SL is a great pickup but pretty bright and microphonic, so I'm going to pot it to remedy that (I might get flamed for potting a Seth though :p).

I looked at the tortoise option too, but I thought the color "dominated" the guitar too much so I was going for a more subtle look.

That's the black pearl color I was thinking of! The others are more silver. I think that looks pretty good. Where did you get the black quilt?

The black pearl is from WDMusic, the black quilt is from GilroyGuitars in Australia, it was custom so it took several months to finish and I had to mail a tracing.
