Since I'm changing my "Fender 57 Reissue Maple Neck Stratocaster Made In Japan Since 1993" 's original pickup to "Lindy Fralin's Blues Special Pickup" set. I was thinking, should I get the pickup in black color and change the volume knob and switch selector to black as well and give my strat a "Tuxedo look". Or should I get the pickup in white color and stick with the original "Traditional look"?

I would tell you what I think. But just out of curiosity and wanna get opinions from different points of view. Choosing from your own taste, and with your personal preference, which look would you prefer?

Traditional Look (This is my stratocaster):

Tuxedo Look (Thinking of this look as the traditional look is quite common):

Prefer the white PG/covers, but that would be a stunner with a black pickguard and black covers/knobs IMO.

    My order of preference:

    1) White guard with white covers and knobs
    2) Black guard with white covers and knobs
    3) Black guard with black covers and knobs

The black knobs and covers would really pop with a chrome or mirror guard.[IMG]

I was thinking of doing the same, but looking at the pics I'm keeping it traditional.

Trad is much better to me. I don't care for black plastic usually. That second one looks like a copy or a toy. The first one is elegant.

The first look is very classy. The second looks like a Guitar Hero controller.

I have an SQ Squier that is originally black on black. I still have the original pieces but went traditional. At least for me, I got very tired of the tuxedo look and very much like the traditional black Strat.

I'ma throw a monkey wrench into the mix and make the suggestion of: Black Strat + black covers/knobs + that grey tortise shell 'guard. Alternately, you could do the same but with white covers/knobs. Just my $0.02.

    I prefer trad look myself.
Thats after going full circle with my eric johnson blackie.
Did the gilmour look, blackout look and gold annodized look and eventually went back to bright white/white

Gold annodized with black plastic is my second choice

Dude, that guitar looks freaking killer the way it is. Just leave the look alone. It's traditional, classy and stylin!
