Anyone swapped te stock 12Bh7A to other , without biaisng ?
The HT5H does not need biaising.
Really ? And everything is fine ?
How long ago you did it ?
I have - no bias needed. I did that about a year before I sold the head. Never an issue.
Why you change the power tube ?
And which producer you chosen ? TAD , EHX or maybe NOS ?
This is a good question. I did it as I seem to change everything because it is there. I noticed no difference in sound.
But amp played ok ? without problems ?
And which tube you put in ? EHX , TAD etc ... ?
(the stock 12BH7A tube in my amp is EHX)
I sold the amp long ago now. I do not recall. The amp was fine. Why would it not be fine?
Swapped power tube without biasing
I've had a Blackstar HT-5 head for about 9 months....
I swapped the tubes out for some NOS tubes.... a Telefunken replacing the 12AX7 and an RCA 12Bh7 replacing the stock tube...
Everything sounds great... the Telefunken adds what I would call a "depth" to the sound... almost an airy quality....
You don't need to bias anything...
Can you noticed the change in sound when you swapped stock 12Bh7A to these RCA ?
