    CryBaby's thread "talk to your daughter" contained this backing [and his killer take]....

    My attempt.

    Blue 4 U2

    11/27 - Revised version. As Marin pointed out, it needed some delay/reverb. I actually had it in the mix, but it was bypassed when I made the mp3. DUH!!! Fixed here:

    Blue 4 U3

    Tasty playing and nice tone.

    Perhaps a little bit more delay/reverb? (not too much) :)

    Thanks Marin. In Sonar, I thought it was about right, but I agree w/U. Needs a little more. I'll do that and re-post.

    This was just an experiment with tone and different guitars.
    First is a Peavey JF1EX;
    at 1:19 is MIA Strat starting on the neck PU, then switching to the bridge Pearly Gates;
    at 1:56 is an RG470;
    finally at 2:34 is an Artist AS200.
    I can't hear much difference except for the strat......

    I think all of them sounded good. Very nice tone - especially the clean. But to be honest, I liked the tone of the Peavey best.
    It has a very nice clean as well as overdriven tone. :)
    Which pickup were you using for the clean with the Peavey?

    Fig - the clean was the neck pup. I'll do another using the JF1 and the AS200, clean only.:D

    Thanks Norm. You know I haven't been listening to anyone in particular. Sometimes, I just get lucky....kinda like fishing.

    Thanks Lasse!!
    The amp is a 91? Fender Blues Deluxe. The signal path was guitar-->Boss CS1-->Arion Tubulator(gain set very low)-->Arion Tubulator(gain set about 3/4 hi)-->amp. A delay unit was in the amp's loop circuit. SM 57 centered on the speaker.
