l have four small tube amps, all of which cost me less than the average BJ and each will eat one for lunch in a live setting. While the BJ can be an ok practice rig, there are better options out there.

If you like the EL-84 thing, find a used 70's Traynor YGL-3. Not as light as a BJ but reasonable and in a different league (better) tonally. I paid $400 for my '74 and I would have paid more had I known how good it was beforehand.

Saw that. Another version for $50 more, but says cab is made of birch/plywood. As someone previously mentioned somewhere, Fender needs to release a deluxe BJr, charge more $$ and be done with it already.;)

I like the concept, maybe the Deluxe BJr can have pentode / triode switch or power reduction feature as well ...would it be asking too much in year 2018?

Would be good if they did the "Deluxe" version and actually used a larger sized cab like the MojoTone Pine 5e3 Tweed Deluxe sized cab. The amp would benefit and given the numbers they could sell the additional cost would probably not be too great.

Anyone know which reverb tank they put in the BJr IV? Assume it is Accutronics?

In a few of the stores around Toronto, when they got in the IV series of hot rods, pro jr, and blues jr, they seemed to ship tweed versions of all of them too.

I can’t find info on Fender.com about a Tweed Blues Junior IV. Does it exist? Or is it a III?

As far as I know, only III's have a Tweed version right now.

There's a Hemp version of the IV, with a 12" Hotrod Hempster speaker (Eminence), but I haven't heard it yet.

It's the Ruby tank, same one as the BJ III

I can barely discern the reverb on the IV demos online, so wonder what supposed upgrade they did, and what a Mod reverb tank would sound like in there.

The reverb is supposedly in a different part of the circuit now, I think a MOD reverb tank would sound worse. I've used the MOD tanks on my previous Blues Juniors which worked better and warmer than the Ruby tank... I just dont care for the new reverb but really like the rest of the amps upgrades.

Got a BJr IV on the way for home use only. So do you have any volume and tone settings you can recommend for low volume level playing? Do you go with master all the way up and regular volume knob set low, (around 2-3?) for best results? Will be using pedals for overdrive.

I just set the gain to about 3 (9:00) and set the Master to where ever I want the amp for loudness it takes pedals very nicely much better than previous versions IMO.

Cool, thanks. Which pedals are you using with your BJR IV?

I'd say the IV is 1 better. Also, I didn't watch the video.
