Finally pulled the trigger on one! And now the 6-week wait begins. Hoping to read some Bogner Ecstasy love posts while I hang on in anxious anticipation.

Congrats great amp. Did you go with 6l6's or el34's?

    Thanks a lot! :D

I hope you do get it back!

I'm an EL-34 kinda guy and I've got an '03 EL-34 Shiva that I really love. Figured I'd stick with that works for me, though the Ecstasy will definitely have some new flavors.

Hey Phoenix...wanna sell me your Shiva? It will take the pain out of that xtc cost.

Thanks, Rod -- that's a tempting offer! But I think I'm going to keep the Shiva on hand as a backup, in case the Ecstasy ever goes down.

Actually, the Shiva is such a great amp that to call it a "backup" seems totally wrong. Maybe I'll tweak it to perfection for my Strat and Tele and set up the Ecstasy for my LP's. Will need to bring the Shiva to gigs anyway, just in case.

u really cant go wrong with an XTC, if anytihing theres a dial in factor, but from there, its like getting hit with a 2x4. its just awesome.

So tell us all about the first day,......
Good amp builder you got in bed with.
    Love my Bogner.
    Was just playing it.
No XTC. But there are not bad Bogners.

I think you are going to be one happy camper by day's end.
I have an Ecstasy Classic, and that amp never fails to put a smile on my face. Great cleans, and two types of overdrive (blue or red channels), plus a world class effects loop.
    I also have a Shiva EL34 112 combo....with those 2 I'm done Bognerwise.

    Keep us posted!

I've been rocking a 100B and a 101B for a little over a year now and they still put a smile on my face every time I fire them up!

It's here! Hooked it up to my Germino 4x12 and it sounds fantastic! Thanks to CALI 68 for posting his favorite Ecstasy settings for Les Paul on another thread a while back. I used those as a starting point and was getting great sounds right out of the box. Now I need to print out the manual and get deep into this thing. Pretty thrilled with the amp on first impression!

Walked into the GC in Dallas, messed around with the 20th XTC a bit on red, then blue channels. Great sounding amp, lots of options, needs some volume to sound good, imo.
But when you get the volume knob up around 10 oclock, wow!
Heard a guy a little later playing some EVH thru the blue channel with some volume.
Great tone. His chops were pretty good too.
Found out it was a TGP member.
    Small world.
    Congrats on the new amp!!!

I have a 101A and freaking LOVE it! Spend some time with it -- it can get you anywhere you need to be!

I'm beginning to discover this, though I think I'm just scratching the surface. By themselves, the Pre-EQ switches for each channel open up a huge range of possibilities. I've always been pretty much an old school, single channel NMV amp guy. The most complex amp I've owned before was a Shiva. The Ecstasy is a whole new world.
