    Hi,
I just bought a Bogner Metropolis head that is in transit and I'm going to need a cabinet for it. I noticed on GC's site they have a bunch of Bogner Alchemist 2x12s for reasonable prices.

I know the amps had some headaches, but how are the cabs? They were supposedly loaded with a Greenback and G12H30 which might be a good match for the Metropolis.

If not this, what kind of cab would you recommend for that amp?

    I love the cab.
Well built and solid. If you've never used an open back cab you're in for a surprise.
I thought there were speaker options available when new. Could be wrong.

I'm pretty sure the Greenback/G12H Anni were always the speakers in those Alchemist cabs.

don't quote me 'cause I'm not 100% sure, but I seem to recall seeing somewhere that they are plywood, NOT MDF or particleboard.

really, they entire Alchemist line was pretty good stuff. It was Bogner's attempt to team up with Line 6 and bring out an affordable line of "Bogner" gear.
It was build overseas by Line 6 but they wanted to maintain a certain level of quality.

Yes they are plywood. You should be able to find one on Craigslist or used online for $250-350.

Local CL seller is selling one for 200. Good deal? How heavy is this cab? I am not finding this info on the web.

If it has the original speakers, grab it for $200. That's a no-brainer.

From the Alchemist owners manual: 2x12 cab is 58lbs, 25.75" wide x 26" high x 10.25" deep. Loaded with a combination of one (1) 16 ohm Celestion® G12H 70th Anniversary* speaker and one (1) 16 ohm Celestion® G12M Greenback* speaker, wired together for 8 ohm operation
