I have the bogner 4x12 to match the XTC 101B. I have the Marvel mod and have it set to pre2004 mode(sounds the best of the three)

My cab has v30s which are fine, but I am curious what you recommend. Most people seem to say greenbacks are the way to go. What say you?

I'm thinking seriously about swapping out two of the V30's and putting Gold's in an X formation.

I've tried my 101B with greenbacks but found them a little too dark for my tastes.

The amp was originally voiced with V30's...although I know a couple of
folks who run a V30's/G12H30's in an 'X' pattern with the Bogner 412 cab.

I like all 4 to be V30s. I tried it with G12H30s as well but it sounded a little congested.

I've got pretty good results from an older Marshall 1960A with two Greenbacks on top and two V30's on the bottom. I really like the combination of the Greenback's creaminess with the low-mid punch of the V30's when standing about 8-10' in front of my cab. Fills in some different midrange frequencies while playing with the entire band as well.

I swapped out the V30's in my Bogner cab for greenacks and love 'em! Scumback M75's are a close second. I've got a cab with H30's but it's not my fave with the XTC. may try a mix of speakers in that one.

I use 2 celestion golds in 2 1x12 cabs....
Sometimes I'll use a gold and a V30 in two separate cabs aswell just for a bit more variety but i like 2 golds best

Another user of V30/H30.

Try experimenting with the foam on the cabinet back. Take it out and see how that sounds; it's really easy to replace. I have one cab with it and one without, they both have their strong points.
