Great preamp. Definitely a unique sound. It's for sure on the "heavy" side of the tone spectrum. Mine needs to go back to the Bogner farm for some TLC. Nothing major, but, needs a little love.
I'm going to make a 2nd "heavy sound" rack in the future, using the Fish.
    That thing just sounds THICK.
There's a few other guys that hang out here that have/had one.
    I know JayKay has one.
But, mine is better than his.

Better? Mine is paired with a BLUE 2150. You can't get better than that.

I´ve been eyeing a reissue Fish on and off for long while, because even if I never really fell in love with the 101B and the Shiva there´s just something awfully cool about the Fish. This thread could be harmful for my bank account

Wow. I just got an email. I found this preamp used at a Guitar Center in Tx. Ordered it yesterday to ship overnight. Email states the preamp is non-functional and they must cancel my order. Please call with any questions. I call the manager and he said it has been at a local repair shop and the guy couldn’t fix it? Mind you the ad says Excellent condition. GC manager says I have to send it to Bogner now. The power section is not functioning. I asked why this was on the site to begin with and he said it just didn’t get updated. I guess the good news is it wasn’t sent to me in this condition. I asked him to call me when It got back from Bogner and he said just check the site often it’s to hard for him to keep track of my number and when the unit will be returned? Wow. Could be an instant sale possiably. But that’s to much work. I’ve never been a fan of GC and now much less than before.

That all sounds like terrible sales practices to me, better to walk away.

I had them running in circles on that thing...
When I determined upon chatting with them it was "pre broken"...I offered to buy it "as is"...they'd lost it...lol
Called Bogner $65 per hour plus parts...it need a power transformer...not cheap...for that kinda cash, I can buy a perfectly functioning one...best of luck

Just walk away from this bad thing. It's madness. You're lucky!

That sounds pretty fishy, pardon the pun. Sort of like the sales manager stole it, or whatever.

Bogner is supposed to be on board with Synergy Amps and preparing his own modules, if that eases the blow a bit.

I did. They refunded my money. I don’t want broken goods.

    I must correct a mistake.
JayKay is right. The Blue 2150 sounds better, with the Bogner Fish, than the purple one does. The Fish is blue. His 2150 is blue. Sounds better.
But, the purple one is more versatile: it sounds great powering ANY preamp.
JayKays blue one only sounds good with the Fish.
It takes a pretty big man to admit when he's wrong. Today, I'm being a big man.
