he’s been awful for the last 3-4 years. his voice is shot and there’s no coming back from that. ditto Paul Stanley; they both sound out of breath, zero power and this really dreadful slow vibrato.

    time to pull up stumps

Richie sounded solid. Jon... not so much.

i've watched it a few times now. i know his voice has been shot for years... but i'm wondering if he can't hear? would make a bad situation worse.

since it's the HoF show... i'm assuming they didn't have their own sound system... and probably didn't have their own sound techs either... which would make that bad situation that became worse... even worser???

    It didn’t sound that bad.

His voice has been shot for a while now.

Yeah..its a tough listen. But let's reflect on the fact that JBJ has been doing one of the hardest vocals in Rock for about 40 years and played more dates than anybody (along side the Grateful dead, The Stones). I am surprised that alone didn't kill him. Ever try to sing some of his material? If your gonna do it right, hire Arnold Pineda or Steve Perry. Imho, it's in that league. People don't mention JBJ often in that company, but he should be. I am certain it was enough to be there, even if the (most likely) the monitors sucked and JBJ voice was in rough form. Cmon...people dont judge 40 yrs worth of gigs based on 3 songs.

There are plenty of examples of singers with lots of miles that have lost range but retained tonality, strength, and pitch. JBJ is not one of those examples.

The band sounded ok....lead vocals were pretty rough, but sadly pretty much what is being delivered on a regular basis now. Cool to see Sambora up there, and Phil X looks to have graciously stepped back a bit for this show.

Great point. Jon’s vocals have devolved into Steven Pearcy territory.

JBJ has reached the level of superstardom that he now has his own personal key signature that nobody else is allowed to use-not even those in his band.

Ok. I just listened to the clip and had some thoughts, then I remembered....we’re talking about BON JOVI!

Are we going to pick apart Debbie Gibson’s live clips next? Is this where we’re at?

Bon Jovi, guys...lets keep some perspective. It’s not Pavarotti.

I'm waiting for the time when her failure to be inducted into the RnR HoF proves it is illegitimate. Seems like all the other acts that have been used to criticize the Hall here on TGP are being inducted, one or two per year.

It’s going to get there. “I can’t take that place seriously without Debbie Gibson in there”.

Sounds silly, but we’re descissing this in a BON JOVI hall of fame thread. The crazy times continue.

Indeed. If someone had suggested in the 80s that Bon Jovi would be inducted into the Hall at some point, I don't imagine I'd have believed them.

Do you think Brett Michaels is already picking out his ceremony bandana/weave?
