Boost & OD Question

    I am running a Z.Vex Super Hard On before a Hardwire CM-2. I like to really slam the CM-2 with the SHO to get a fierce, aggressive tone. However, given the immense volume boost of the SHO and the stories I read about people damaging their amps, is there any danger to my CM-2 in feeding too much boost into the pedal?

    I tried turning up my SHO to 3 o'clock, and it seemed like the signal started to die out from the CM-2, which scared me away from trying more experiments.

    Shouldn't hurt anything. All you are hearing when that happens is blocking distortion. Just turn it down till that stops and use it at that level or less.

    The boost isn't going hurt any pedals or amps, unless you throw it at them or something.

    Some pedals don't sound good boosted though, of course.
