    Maybe I'm late to the party, but I just finished Season 2 of Bosch.......man, what a great series! I'm a fan of Michael Connelly's books and Netflix has done a great job of bringing the stories to life. Anyone else enjoying this?

    Amazon Prime original series, not Netflix.

    And yes, it's an awesome show. Another good one on Amazon is "Hand of God", with Ron Perlman.

    It's on a service called "Crave" in Canada.

    I thought all three seasons were fantastic. Good writing and acting, and a flawed protagonist add up quite nicely.

    Is this Bosch as in Hieronymous Bosch?

    Rewatching it now. I'm a big fan of the books and the series is pretty rockin'. Great casting.

    We enjoyed it, but some of the side characters weren't all that great. Writing sounded a little "scripty" also, especially some of the sidebars about social issues, etc. Felt tacked on and unrealistic.

    It's a great series and I'm glad somebody has called it out as it's very deserving.

    Apparently I'm late to the party on this one but man, I really like it. Will finish Season 2 tonight and start Season 3 this weekend most likely. One of the coolest things about the show is I am discovering what I would call "Classic Jazz." Amazon Prime music has a set list called "The World Of Bosh" which has a lot of cuts from the show including the beautiful cut "Patricia" by Art Pepper. There is also a "soundtrack" but haven't listened to it yet. I have always had a bit of jazz around Miles Davis, John Coltrane standards but haven't listened to them really for years. Russ Freeman, the Rippingtons, and other Smooth Jazz has been my go to "jazz" for years. Listened to Return To Forever, Al Dimeola, Chick Corea and Weather Report for a while as well but it's not at all the same.

    I made a discovery, as a result of listening to this and other Amazon jazz lists, of a new favorite;
    Pharaoh Sanders, what a great sax player!!!

    I love the Amazon series, and also Connelly's books. It is kind of confusing, though, having to keep track of two separate Bosch universes. The show does not follow the books...

    Same for me, except...I really TRY to like it, but the books are "smarter" and the series seems to me to miss a lot of the book series style.

    Also, and this is the biggie for me, the actor playing the part of Bosch is just totally wrong to me. He's missing the humor and a lot of Bosch's style. He's almost the opposite of Bosch for me. Michael Connely purposely kept descriptions of Bosch pretty loose and vague in his books. But for me Bosch would be more like the Pacino character in "Heat". Maybe not totally but way more similar.

    Read an interview where Connely did say he was happy with the choice, but he also admitted that the actor "doesn't look like Bosch", again to me he doesn't ACT like him either. Connely felt he "emoted" Bosch well though.

    I think the acting is not as good as it ought to be. Bosch's partner, Jerry Edgar (also not how I saw Edgar but...) is great. He seems natural, and fits the role. The ex-wife, daughter, Commander, etc. all seem to be acting too hard to me, and the plots have lots more holes and folk doing "dumb things" that just don't fit given their knowledge etc.

    I REALLY wanted to enjoy it, as I have read Connely's series for a long time and feel they are maybe the best Detective crime fiction around. Maybe I was never going to be totally on board with fiming it, but I really did want to be.

    Just feel no chemistry with the Bosch actor in the series.
