This is nice, but where's the Space Echo?
The Space Echo is what makes the RV500 such an absolutely amazing pedal.
These are pretty cool and I would have probably looked at them over the 500 as I admit while it's nice to go into deep edit mode, in reality I don't do much of that and work off the basic algorithms and adjust top side rather than with the editor. And even the menu structure top side, which I've gotten reasonably used to, is a learning curve that is not everyone's cup of tea, and maybe wouldn't be mine if I'd had another middle ground option. Plus the size, as noted, is cool since the 500 series boxes do take up some real estate!
None of these pedals inspire GAS in me, really, so it's kind of a moot point. But I really dislike the mini-TRS MIDI jacks. It basically means you have to spend an extra $40 out of the gate if you want to incorporate them with a MIDI rig (assuming you get converters for both the MIDI in and out jacks).
and then boom, 500 series price
I'm very interested in the Hybrid drive. Hopefully it'll feature both analog and digital circuits.
Nah, those cables can be had for $5-7. Also, it means you can daisy chain MIDI between them with some really small 1/8" right angle cables. Let's face it, MIDI cables are stupid.
huh...puzzling. this is all ground they already have very well covered. oh well.
Anyone know the sizes of these bad boys?
So it's the Boss version of the 10 year old TC Electronics Nova series?
4” x 5 7/16” x 2 1/2” (without rubber feet)
I really dig the aesthetic of that DD-200. Love it.
Well, looks like I'm buying a $250 EQ. Never thought I'd say that.
I love these
Well, whether they're stupid or not, they're still pretty standard for a lot of things. I suppose if you found a small enough right angle 1/8" adapter, you could save 1/4" or so compared to something like one of the One Control MIDI Hammer cables. But at least with those cables I can use them with whatever gear I want to in the future. Other than some of the Arturia stuff, I don't know of any other gear that uses 1/8" MIDI jacks.
You weren't around during the BJFE Sea Blue EQ craze, I take it
Yeah you will
Lucky you, I just bought the 500 after much debate because I hate menu diving. The 200 looks perfect!
reminded me that I've always wanted to try the OD20. let me know if you have one....
