Boss DD7 tap tempo: normally closed or normally open?

I'm building a small tap tempo box for my DD7 and I want to tap on the DOWNSTROKE of the switch, not on the release. I've searched a bit online and I seem to be getting mixed opinions on NC or NO for tapping on the downstroke. Can somebody please set this straight for me so I can buy the right switch?

Closed. I know because I bought an open one for this exact project last weekend.

You can use this one to switch between NO and NC if you have a little toggle in between:

But here's a soft touch NC switch (which is sweet because the soft touch ones are usually NO):

Yeah, that NC soft touch switch is awesome. That's the one I was planning on getting
