It such an improvment, that it just put it up with all the best pedals I've owned.. Way to go Kevin from tone-jam.com . I'm going to get two or three more for when we hit the road. Sniper mode rules.

How are you using it? tone shaper or boost?

Both, I've been using the regular Boss GE-7 for years as a tone shaper into the Marshall, but now it has so much versatility I'm using it as a boost, tone shaper, crunch shaper, preamp. It sounds so warm now. I buying another one this weekend..

Where are you guys putting it in the chain, before any modulation boxes?

I'd be interested in getting one to help shape certain ODs for additional flavors - do any of you use it in that way? For instance, turning a more transparent OD into more of a midrangey thicker tone?

I put right before the Burriss Boostier, which is second from last, and I'll tell you that sometimes I run it last because I might not have the Boostier on. This pedal is night and day difference from the normal GE-7. It's can pull off any clean boost sound with the EQ that it has.. It used to sound like there was a blanket over the sound, and now it has clarity and warmth.

Exactly. I have been using it to shape the tone on my amp in my effects loop, since the amp's tone controls are a little limiting [zinky blue velvet]. I ended up buying a micro amp to use an effects loop boost (boosts into the front input don't seem to work for me), but *d'oh* I should have done what you did and just bought another sniper for the boost.

The Sniper is quiet... no hissing or anything... PRISTINE sound... like glass. This is "THE" eq pedal. Every rig should have at least one of these. Everytime I walk past my guitar, I gotta pick it up and play. 'Nuff said!

I picked one of these up a couple years ago....great pedal, glad to see it's getting some attention on TGP.

I've always wanted a BJF Sea Blue EQ but couldn't justify the scratch. I was about to pull the trigger on the Sniper and then saw the ad for the Antelope Morning Dew. Should be here shortly. Supposed to be dead quiet but a Parametric EQ vs the Boss graphic. It's my first foray into the EQ department. Hope I won't be disappointed.

I own two of the Sniper-moded GE-7 EQs. One is for the pedal board and the other is what I grab when running out the door with just a small amp and guitar.

I have considered putting the second Sniper on my board as well. One would be for shaping and the other for a boost.

Where I find it most useful is when I want a full sound (clean or dirty) at a lower volume.

I've never tried a sniper, though I want to as a pre-distortion eq. However, I am uber-satisfied with my boss eq-20, they really overhauled their eq design on that baby. Mayhap one day someone can compare the two?

In the meantime, even if I got the sniper, dunno where I'd put it, my board is full. I've never heard a bad thing about it, though, so congrats on yours!
