BOSS is on a run!
only one question arises:
is it called next-one, or nex-tone?
Sounds pretty good to my ears...
I was in the market for a small practice amp for my office, I might have to wait until I can try this thing...
They are 40W and 80W. So not small amps. Although they do go down to half power and 0.5 watts it looks like.
They look like Katana amps for people who want something a bit more classic looking and more traditional pannel. 2 channels - clean and lead. Can adjust the power amp tube type on the amp.
They have less effects, but foot switchable boost (clean, mid, treble and compressor) and delay (tape, analog, SDE3000) with regular foot switches. Also have reverbs (plate, spring or hall) and a tremelo, but no other effects.
Can all be tweaked using a laptop of course.
It is the power scalability what makes me think they might be worth a try. It is not a desktop amp, but I guess it can be as quiet as if it was one...
Yeah I have a Katana 50 and its great on the 25W or 0.5W settings.
That’s most definitely more my taste than the Katana. If it sounds as good as it does in the Videos it’s a nice contender against some low end tube amps for the “help I need an amp for an apartment/practice”question
It's just like the Blues Cube and the Kat had a baby. Luckily it looks more Roland than Boss. I hope it inherits the Boss Pricing though (I get it will cost more than a Katana, but I hope less than a BC)
WOW, looks like a mash-up of Katana + Bluescube in a next generation Tube Logic.
May have to check this out and see if it kicks the THR 100 off to Reverb
Small OT: I'd also like to point out that Boss has also announced the Waza Amp Expander (reactive load, attenuator, IR loader etc). How cool is that?
Australian prices: $675/$935
So maybe $399-499 US for the Stage
Seems like Boss looked at the Yamaha THR100 with it's power tube selection. Will be interesting to see a comparison between the two.
Almost the perfect feature set for what I'm looking for in a small modelling amp.
If the tones are there I'm in!
I know! I just bought the Blackstar Artist 15 tube amp. I have a Yamaha THR100 single head coming from Reverb which I bought for $320 shipped. I may have to ditch both for the Boss if I can try one at GC when they hit the stores.
Amazing! It's like a Katana for grown ups!
The price is 439 pounds (around 500 euro) for the Stage and 615 pounds (around 700 euro) for the Artist.
It looks like both versions have an effects loop, which I believe the Roland Blues Cube Stage doesn't. It might be my next amp.
If my first gen Katana ever dies I’m getting one of these. Love that there are these kind of amps for guys like me who can’t always crank a tube amp.
$499 and $699 at Sweetwater
Oh man.....$499 for the Stage. I'll have to see how much I like the THR100. Otherwise, this is perfect for home use for me.
I dunno, looks like a katana and they just renamed the amp types with the tube types they're trying emulate.
