Whats out there?
Catalinbread Zero Point
The Subdecay, A/DA and Hartman flangers are supposed to be really good
I just bought one of the last blue HBE Frost Bite's 'cos the demos sounded great
(it's basically a copy of the A/DA with a volume knob added)
HBE are out of business now, but that didn't bother me because it's an analog circuit
I really love the HBE (I've got a bunch of their pedals)
If you want more options and waveforms check out the Subdecay, it looks pretty mad
Others may chime in with other options, there's probably some other good ones
Oh yeah BTW...the HBE is a bit big for some, but it doesn't bother me
(Testing the new Frost Bite with some fuzz and delay...too much fun!)
Moog cluster flux
My Hartman is really nice.
No need to go boutique and spend a bunch of money when there's the MXR Micro Flanger.
and i'm happy with the evh flanger
For regular flanging the MXR is fine, but for more experimental you need boutique,
or an EHX Flanger Hoax, but they're noisy and the biggest pedal ever made!
Not boutique, but I needed a tiny one and have had the Mooer Elec Lady on my board for 2 years. It delivers the jet plane whoosh like a champ.
There's always the Lovetone ?, which is long gone from production, but I've seen some clones. Then there's the Misty cave by Last gasp, which does the filter matrix thingy, but with a exp input.
The Moog is really great and does alot of great stuff. Especially if you really goes nuts with cv.
Mr. Black Tunnelworm sounds awesome and stands out the herd
And does the A. Summers thing to a tee. It's a flanger you can stand to turn on - and actually keep on for the whole song. Highly recommended, though not boutique.
I've had a crap ton of flangers including most of the ones mentioned in this thread so far, and this really is the truth.
I really do like the Ibanez Paul Gilbert flanger. I wish they would make a smaller version without the 'make goofy noises' footswitch.
This is a crazy easy pedal to get a good sound from. Much more versatile than I expected.
+1 for the Hartman - I love the lushness of that pedal...
Happy with my Hartman and A/DA reissue.
+1 on the Moog Clusterflux.
A/DA flanger is amazing.
