Hey guys, as some of you may know in a few weeks Im making the trip across the border to NYC to Ultrasound to go pick up my Komet Concorde! So I figured why not check out some good pedalshops while there? Anyone know of any boutique shops in NYC or the NYC area (new jersey too)??? Any info would be appreciate. Thanks in advance. Cheers.

    Marko M.

P.S. Im so excited about going to NYC, Ken from Ultrasound said he'll let me play the Dumbles they have there!!!

From Ultrasound, walk across the street to 30th St Guitars. They have a decent selection and you are right there anyway. After that, Rudy's up on 48th St. has some boutique pedals, and you can check out Manny's too, right across the street. If you feel like heading down to the village, Matt Umanov's has a variety of pedals-check the websites for all of these to get particulars.

30th Street Guitars - 30th street west side.

    Rudy's - 48th street west side
(there are also a few other shops on 48th street, like SamAsh and Manny's)

East Village Music - not sure what street its on but its in the east village on the east side.

then theres always the big Guitar Center - 14th street west side

also 10 minutes from the city is the pedalgeek.com shop.

but over all 30th Street guitars has to be the best shop around. :)

If you can get out to the Pedalgeek store, he's buidling a really nice collection of boutique amps, Dan is a great guy who'll let you play them all you want. He also has just about every pedal on his website in stock to try. He'll plug you in with a smile. at Rudy's you'll feel like you're invading their privacy if you want to take one out of the showcase.

Also check out Mazzotti Music in brooklyn. A fairly new shop, but slowly building a nice collection of gear. Dealers for EHX and Death By Audio. By far, the nicest staff of any guitar shop in the city.

Hey guys, thanks alot for all the suggestions. I really cant wait. It seems so close yet soo far. Im probably only going to be able to pickup 1 or 2 pedals at the most after getting the Concorde though. Im so excited to hear that there are awsome music shops like this in NYC.

Barge Concepts- Im actually interested in a pedal of yours aswell...

    Marko-

While we don't really have an open-to-the-public shop, if you placed an order I'm sure we could get it to you while you were in town to help you save on customs/shipping fees.

Feel free to send us an email, and we'll try to help you with what ever you're interested in.

Yeah, I was there last year on vacation and popped in. I complimented the sales guy on a nice store and he acted insulted. Nice store, but not very "user friendly."

+100 - 30th Street has by FAR the biggest selection of any store in the city and they are more than happy to let you try. They also have an amazing collection of used guitars and gear.
Mannys carries the chain store stuff you find anywhere.
    Rudy's isn't called RUDE-y's for nothing!
Ludlow has some stuff but is a bit of a treck, Matt Uminov has nice guitars but pedals....eh.

Pedal Geek is not far from the city and has a great selection...never been to the store but they gots tons of stuff!
