I was at a piano bar where a woman kept asking for a song called "Hello Walls!". She was pretty drunk and each time the piano player would say he didn't know it, she'd say "It goes like this: Hello Walls" in sort of a monotone. Brad should have someone like that in the audience!

    I don’t blame him. I’ve been impressed with the Z’s I’ve played/owned

Disappointed with the Bruno’s I played

Yep, this. I haven't disliked the Brunos, but ultimately found myself thinking, "Uh, alright?"

I watched a rig rundown from just after the flood in Nashville and he had both Dr Z amps and several (I think three) Bruno's in a rack. His tech said they get used during the show...

Same. I've owned a few Brunos, but just wasn't able to bond with them. To be fair, I didn't love the Maz 18 either, but that's the only Z I've tried.

Or in all these acts when they select a "random" fan to join them onstage and they proceed to shred it up perfectly almost like they are actually hired musicians to put on a show for the crowd. ;)

Sadly, he did. If you find one of his amps on the used market, I'd highly recommend it. I've got a KT66 version (around 25w) of the brown deluxe and it's a killer sounding and light head.

Oh yes. I had a vibro tweed and like an idiot traded it for a maz 18. Nothing wrong with the maz, but the VT was special and never comes up used. He closed Shop a week before the trade. Really really good amps

No but I do really like Bruno amps I was interested in a cow tipper years ago, something about Dr z's newer amps I really like especially the new Maz mkii and the z plus (parallel single ended class A)

Let me rephrase ...both are very respectable builders .

So, any comments on the vox/bruno amp? I feel like people never talked about them and they kind of disappeared in the shadows

I saw Jeff Beck right after blow by blow came out. He was wailing on his strat near the front of the stage and he handed down his strat to a big guy in front that continued playing the same lick Jeff had been playing...it was really cool and my first exposure to a plant in the audience.

I heard that his wife told him he couldn't buy any more gear until he sold off some of his old stuff.

Yeah, just bad. Doesn't sound like a Bruno and sure as heck doesn't sound like a Vox. I played the big one and the little one when they first came out and just thought they were terrible. Bland and toneless. It's no wonder they blew them out shortly after they were released for 1/3 of the price. That's probably why you haven't heard much about them.
