Bradford for Foles. Which team got the better of this deal?

I grew tired of Sam quickly. He is dull and boring. He is bright, but slow and too risk averse. Am interested in opinions of Foles. What little I know is encouraging. For the life of me I cannot fathom how Sam fits into a Chip Kelly offense.

I think Foles is better than Sanchez. He had that crazy TD-INT run in 2013. Head-scratching trade IMO.

Perhaps Kelly is looking to strengthen his 3 yards per attempt passing game. Cause that's all Bradford is good for.

Two major knee injuries, season to season. Unless it's a pre draft trade move, I don't get it.

Sounds like the trade also involved swapping 1st round picks, so PHI now picks at #10? (or makes that move for Mariotta?)

Ha. I'm pretty sure Philly lost if they keep Sam. If they trade him for value (higher draft pick?) then we'll see. I suspect the Rams have upgraded, however slightly.

That seems likely - Bradford and Sanchez fight it out for starter this year and MM is the franchise moving forward.

It's a leverage move for Mariota.

Yep, Bradford won't even be in Philly Calculations. Gonna make a move on Mariota

The question is, who would Tennessee rather have, Mariota or Bradford?

They have Mettenberger, so it makes sense to get a veteran and if they can get two or three 1st round draft choices, they should make that deal in a heartbeat.

The other potential trading partner would be the Jets.

Rams won. If the Muriota thing doesn't work out, Chip Kelly will look like an idiot.

BTW, the thread police should be showing up soon to chastise the OP for not posting this in the "approved" NFL offseason thread. :bonk

Won't happen. If Bradford is hanging around, he'll get his new deal this year to lower that $14.4m cap hit. They can't afford his salary, PLUS Sanchez $5.5m hit, PLUS a Mariotta deal. You can't spend $20+m a season on the QB position.

    I think it's trade bait.

As to who is the winner? Bradford, because the loser is FOLES. He's going from an offense led by one of the best offensive minds in the NFL to an offense led by ... Frank Cignetti.

Haha... yeah.. one time I started a playoff thread before the usual... and was amazed at how rudely a couple of people acted in it quickly... because yes.. I was trying to steal someone's thread making thunder... ha.

I teach junior high and it was a very junior high girl drama moment. :aok

I think the Rams won by a mile or two. I actually think Chip Kelly is the exact kind of guy Id never give full control of a roster to. Hes doing that "my system" **** that never works. Bill Belichick is the best coach of all time and he changes his system from year to year. This is actually a stupid trade IMO and if this is some "all in" move to get Mariotta then I like it even less. Going from picking 20th to getting a top QB in the draft is going to cost the Eagles much more than Bradford and their 1st round pick.

I don't think Bradford will ever live up to being the #1 draft pick, so I think the Rams were smart to get rid of him. Not sure if Foles is the answer in St Louis though.

Jesus Christ with Elway's arm isn't the solution in St. Louis. That offense is awful and Foles will get killed behind that O-line.
