I'm not gonna get any of them, but I think it's pretty cool Fender made a new series of guitars that look cool and are affordable. My personal favorite is the Jazzmaster (above).

What are your guys thoughts? Anyone planning on buying one/bought one?

They do indeed look cool. No gig bag helps the price. I want one of the RW strats...trying hard not to buy one right now. I'm really attached to the MIM 1.65" nut width so these are kinda perfect for me.

Oddly, the telecasters have a tummy cut of all things, and you can get RW on the teles too.

I didn't know they have a 1.65" nut. That's cool. Anyone know if they have a little meat to the necks or are they real thin C's. I like the RW necks.

are these MIM too?

The one I have held back at GC has a fairly normal C neck. It sound great and plays great, humbuckers and still Fender Quack.

some of them do. others will probably be in the 8 lb range. that's the problem with MIM Standard. you have to go through a lot of them to find one that isn't a boat anchor.

On MF it describes the switching as:

Pickup switching: 5-Position blade: Position 1. Full bridge pickupPosition 2. Two inside coilsPosition 3. Full neck & bridge pickupsPosition 4. Outer neck single coilPosition 5. Full neck pickup

At Eldery they say: 5 way pickup selector (bridge, 2 inside single coils, both, 2 outside single coils and neck)

I suspect Elderly is wrong and position 4 is actually just the neck pickup split (outside coil)? Anyone know?
