Hi all, I have a locally made strat style guitar (circa 1984). It's got a Brazilian Mahogany body, Maple & Blackwood neck, and an Ebony Fretboard.

Its a great looking and playing guitar, with a few knocks and some checking behind the headstock. I have Duncan SSL1's in it. It got a unique tone, not overly warm, but very punchy & strong mids (seems to remind me of mahogany acoustics). Great Funk/Blues guitar.

My question is are there any other Brazilian mahogany guitars about? The luthier told me that it is unobtainable now.

I'm not sure that Brazilian mahogany differs from Honduran mahogany. Honduran is used for several types of guitars.

    Great looking guitar!

"Honduran" mahogany is actually Brazilian mahogany. If I'm not mistaken Honduran was just Gibson's terminology at the time.
