I think everyone has seen it at this point, but I watched the pilot today, and it sucks you in like a North Sea whirlpool.

I ended up watching the Sopranos 15 years after it first aired so I won't judge that you are all so late to the party, but you are in for a treat.

I've been watching it since Goodfellas ended about 7 hours ago.

Yeah, me, too. It's kinda cool watching when you already know what happens.........and I had forgotten about all of the great music on the show......

It's definitely a binge watch kind of show! I didn't see it until a couple years after it ended myself. It just didn't interest me when it was on, I had heard enough about meth that it just sounded too damn depressing. I also made the assumption that it glorified the whole thing, which I was definitely wrong about. It shows that sure, it can pay monetarily but the ultimate cost is far greater than any amount of money. Ultimately, my love of a good antihero started making it look more interesting and the idea of a good man doing something so nefarious with good intentions seemed intriguing so I gave it a shot and I was hooked from the start. Rarely do I think something that gets that much praise and hype actually deserves it but I think it's justified in this case. I'm glad I waited until it was over so I could watch it at my own pace though, I think I would have gone crazy waiting for the next episode haha.

Coincidentally, Vince Gilligan wrote, directed, & produced some of the best X-Files episodes.

For me, the Breaking Bad experience was like no other, and I've never been a big TV show person. Enjoy the journey!

Bryan Cranston was also on an episode and from what I remember hearing, it was his performance in it that convinced the big wigs to give him the job. Vince Gillian wanted him but the big wigs weren't buying it. It's funny, the only thing I had seen him in before was Malcolm in the Middle(which I liked the first couple years of at the time) and he played moron so well that I never would have thought he could have pulled off what he did in Breaking Bad. From family man to drug kingpin, he had me believing it all.

The X-Files is another I'd like to watch through. I watched it regularly in the beginning but lost interest in it when it got to being all about conspiracy but I think I might like that more now. I'd like to at least watch the first few seasons again.

Yeah, the conspiracy theory BS wore on me so much that I only pick the scary monsters episodes for re-watches, and again coincidentally I think all of Gilligan's were scary monster episodes.

Given what they were doing, some conspiracy theory stuff made sense but it got to being way too much of a focus. I loved the scary monster stuff though! I looked it up and from where it was in the series(it's season 6 episode 2 called The Drive), I don't think I've seen the Bryan Cranston episode and the description doesn't sound familiar. It sounds like a good one though.

Best show ever! It's basically a really awesome tour of my hometown.

BTW, I teach at the same school as Walter White. That should be good for some cool points!

I first watched it about 2 years ago. I watched the whole series in about 6 months.
Also recently watched Better Call Saul. I loved it.
