Broadcaster style pickups

I've tried some different T style pickups and now am going to get a set of Broadcaster style pickups wound.43 guage plain enamel wire with A5 mags.
Bridge around 10K and neck around 6.8K.
Who else uses this type of wind in their Tele?
I haven't tried a set like this in my Tele yet.
What can I expect?

10k?? sounds a bit much. I've got a vintage-styled tele, and my bridge is about 7.4k... pretty sure broadcasters/teles of that era rarely made it past 8k.

According to The Blackguard Book, that is pretty much correct. Having said that, I have a Don Mare "0038" in my Broadcaster replica, and it weighs in between 10k and 11k. I think the theory (as explained to me) is the extra output makes it a little more versatile- turn it all the way up for singing Roy tones, turn it down for twang. At any rate, it works for me. I love it.

Whether it sounds JUST LIKE an original Broadcaster is something I will probably never know. They all probably sounded a little different, anyway.

A 10k pickup wound with 43 gauge wire is not the same as 10k pickup wound with 42 gauge wire. I asked Don Mare wind a set of pickups to give me something like the Jesus Just Left Chicago tone and he came up with something close to Broadcaster spec.
