Broken Tailpiece to Vintage Epiphone Archtop

Silver Supporting Member
I recently picked up a '59 epiphone century. It is all original with the exception of the tailpiece and bridge. I was able to get the original broken tailpiece from the shop I bought it from. It looks like a clean break in the metal. Has anyone had any luck repairing these? Is it worth it to take it somewhere to weld? Should I try combining the original tailpiece with a newer mount?

The replaced tailpiece works fine and no new holes were drilled but it would be nice to have the original on there if it is salvageable.

Any advice is appreciated!

Just pick up a new tailpiece or look for a used replacement, and keep the old one in the case. Things break.
