Bruce Springsteen Halftime Show (MERGED)

I heard the exact same mix with REO Speedwagon on Soundstage last night on PBS.

What's up?

Is it excessive compression?

Could it be that Comcast is transmitting low quality audio?

Actually, Bruce sounds great, but the guitar sounds are flat, instead of full and bold.
Some of the other pieces (piano, etc) are marginal, IMHO.

I was not very impressed to say the least. His voice sounds tired and a little a bit pitchy. Maybe it's all the running around....

I tho0ught he gave it 100% and Bruce at 50% is better than many.

I heard them just fine in my HDTV 5.1 mix.
Granted it was a very full mix, lots of instruments onstage, so there's no doubt that
nothing would be prominent unless it was for a solo.

The Stones had problems with their guitar tone at the SuperBowl too.
I noticed they've switched to tweeds.

with the sped they have to set everything up for those things, its surprising they arent miming (if they in fact aren't). They just had a wall of sound with all the people there.

The tele would be fine if it got dropped, I bet that wouldn't be the 1st time.
