Guess I've been under a rock. Did not know Bruce Willis -- the Die Hard guy -- released a couple albums in the late 80's.

What other modern actors (avoiding the whole Dean Martin, Elvis Presley shtick) can challenge this? Kevin Costner? Do the Vampire-something (whatever Johnny Depp's band is) have an album?

Yeah Bruce got the album deals from all of the Planet Hollywood openings where he would play on stage, usually with a cool mix up of musicians (GE Smith, TBone, etc). Katey Segal is a great example. Strong voice, was a singer before an actress. Keifer, Kevin Bacon, Jamie Foxx, Keanu Reeves (bassist), Zooey Deschanel has a few albums out, and my personal fave is Taylor Momsen.....as my Daughter's like her in Gossip Girl, but I prefer her fronting The Pretty Reckless, whom absolutely kick ass! Jared Leto is probably one of the strongest examples as he is an Oscar winning actor and has sold millions of "albums" fronting Thirty Seconds to Mars.

And yes, the Vampire somethings, LOL (Hollywood Vampires) have an album too.

J-LO got her break as an actress and turned that into a musical career.

The Return of Bruno was dreadful. Right up there (down there?) with Don Johnson's 80s musical output.

For his first music release Murphy worked with Rick James, right?

Speaking of Murphy, he's the big "get" for Seinfeld on the new season of Comedians in Cars... on Netflix. The episode is super long, and worth the time.

Don Johnson was quite the recording artist in the 90s (I kid, the album was terrible).

It's a tee-up for Eddie's return to the live comedy stage on Netflix. They were saying it could be a $70M payday for Mr. Murphy

I've heard other recordings of Willis play live. On those he has the good sense (and clout and the money of course) to hire excellent backing musicians, and also on what I've heard anyway to not overplay or try to play over his ability.

Haven't watched the one in the OP except to click on various places throughout. One thing I see, as always, is a strong tendency to ham it up. Wouldn't be Bruce Willis without that!
