Good ol' greasy slide playing from the gut with no silly notes, that's what I'm talkin about. Nice touch.

The melody on the "tone tests" reminded me of Beck's "Definitely Maybe", for some reason. I liked the tones on #1 and #4 the best, and #3 was a bit on the woofy side.

Thanks for the word!

One of the BSM clips sounded kinda Marshall Tucker-y so to speak. I was interested to hear what some others would say about the different tones. Thanks for the feedback.

Hello Randy,

I listened to your clips and it sounds good. If I was to compare the HS to the OR it would be difficult because I sold the HS back in November so the memory is a little foggy. This is what I remeber though:

1. The OR has more hiss because the transistor used is inherently that way. I called BSM and that was their response. The OR does not have the same degree of volume boost. I think the OR is 9 db and the HS is 12. This is a huge difference since db's are measured logrithmically. I think you gain get the same basic tone with OR but it won't kill your amp like the HS will.

2. The HS is great but more limited because it's either on or off with no tone control. I loved the HS with my strat into my Victoria deluxe but once I put the tele in there I couldn't find the same joy, this is why I eventually got the OR. I still like the HS and may look at getting another in the future but how many overdrive/ treble boosters and distortion boxes can you use at one time.

hi, harryj!

thanks for the comparison.
I usually have the amp set on the edge, or a little over, so the OR still gets a good overdrive with plenty of sustain (especially with the CPR to push it). BSM stuff is good. I'd like to hear the new ones, and have had email conversations with Bernd Meiser about demo'ing them and putting some clips out. He was busy with a trade show in Frankfurt last we talked. Maybe I'll be able to get with him soon and check these new ones out.
