I don't see how anyone couldn't be a fan of Claypool and Buckhead.

How was Buckethead funky? I heard Bernie and Les getting down and Buckethead weedling on top. No funk..... Band was funky fo' sure, guitar solo not so much. Not saying it was bad, just not funk (for me). Seems like a fun gig.

He's actually pretty deft with his right hand rhythm work with Les Claypool.......It's not readily apparent in that clip.......He's got some groove on the "Bucket Of Bernie Brains" record and I daresay it's pretty off the cuff......

Yeah, I don't know about the funk, but that was still killer. Buckethead is just a fabulus guitar player. I can see how some would like it and some not, but man can he play.

I like Buckethead in general. I always noticed that he's a bit messed up on pedal switches though.

    Funky band? - check
    Funky outfits? - check
    Funky groove? - check
    Funky good time? - check
Funky Buckethead? - not so much.

The playing was good and I really liked it overall but that by no means was funky guitar.

Thanks for posting though . . . The last time I saw Claypool was - jeez - back in 1993 I guess at The Orpheum in Boston on tour to support Pork Soda with Melvins opening. Great show and fun self-depricating humor by Claypool. He took out his stanup bass and just before launching into Mr Krinkle he emplored Berklee students in the audience to disregard his technique . . .

    i digress . . .

Funk/rock/fusion, who cares what you call it. Brian can wail with plenty of feel.

I love Bernie's playing on "Bucket Of Bernie Brains" outrageously fun to listen to.

I wonder if Buckethead makes "guitar faces" under that mask?

I was thinking something along the same lines! Maybe more people would think he was funky if he was movin' around like Claypool and throwing out guitar faces? :D

Saw Buckethead Oct. 29th at Exit/In in Nashville...he's incredible. I came to find out a few years ago when I discovered Buckethead for myself that he recorded the song that partly got me into guitar when I was really little...the Power Rangers theme song haha
