    Ok, time to go...
Had a SD 18 and loved it, just not enough juice or lowend.
So, have always thought about snagging a 45, but nwo cosidering a 30 fo rthe smoother cleans.
With these two, basiclaly just use my knowledge of the different tubes? 84's vs 66's?
    Or?
I know the 45 is voiced more MArshally, but in the cleans as well?

Them big bottles IMHO sound way better than the 84's. I had a SD30II 2X12 and sold it. The local pusher here now stocks the full Budda line and if I had bought the SD45 I'd still own a Budda. The amp is way bigger/fuller sounding than the 18 or 30. The cleans still have that sparkle along with a way full tone. The EQ on the 45 works alot better than the 18 or 30 with the 84's. :JAM

The big jump in Cleans, lowend and volume is when you step up from the 30 to the 45.
The 45 and 80 are closer together in character.
The 18 and the 30 are the closest in character as far as the sd series goes.
Those are really the 2 sd camps.
Changing camps is where you will notice a big difference.
If the 18 was not for you then I would hitch a ride with a 45 or an 80.
The 30 offers a little more clean and a small lowend addition but not much.

    That should help
