I know this should probably go in the "gig alerts" forum area, but I'm putting this here for higher visability.

Nate's Seafood's new Allen location is part of their 20th annual Mardi Gras Extravaga, Fat Tuesday, all-day party tomorrow, TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 24TH, from 11:00am to midnight.

Buddy Whittington will be playing their at 1:00pm. Take a late lunch or knock off for the day if you can.

    Nate's Seafood Allen
    190 E. Stacy Road, Suite 1800
    Allen, Tx
    972-678-2223

Then if you want to stick around, I will be playing as special guest with Randy Ball & The Silvertones at 3:15.

Buddy is the best. I almost had him at one of my jams in NJ last fall. An early Sunday afternoon show prevented it. He's a a guitarist's guitarist and good person too.
If you are close, by all means get to see and hear BW play.

I first met Buddy when he was doing a regular Friday night gig with his band, "The Sidemen" in the late 80's. We were doing a regular Saturday night gig at the same venue, and would go see The Sidemen (also had one of Freddie King's drummers, Mike Kennedy) on Fridays when we weren't playing.

Buddy was incredibly awesome back then, playing his 60's Strat through a couple silverface Deluxe Reverbs with an original TS808 as his one effect. He was and is a major guitar force.

I'd love to be there, but I live way too far... he's the real deal for sure. Great guy, too!

Are you kidding? Not only was I following Buddy today, I was also following Paul Byrd, another awesome player.

Then I did my 2 1/2 hour set as "special guest" with The Silvertones with Leo Delavega, a very unique left-handed (right hand strung) local hero with an incredible sense of timing and phrasing.

At some point I figured my best bet was to play mostly slide.

    What a blast.
