I have a friend wanting an Analog Delay pedal on the cheep ($100-$125 range)......
My friend plays an SG through a Classic 30 tube amp
Tons of threads on this & I did a couple quick searches to no avail so I was hoping someone would chime in and save me time of having to wade through it all. Is there one worth having in this price range that I could recommend?

Really the only 2 I can think of is the Ibanez AD9 for around a buck and a half and BBE makes something called the 2 timer for around the same price. Ebay will be slighly cheaper. Never that crazy about the Ibanez but I've always had a Maxon to compare it unfairly to.

Spend a little more and go with the MXR Carbon Copy. Might be able to find one in Emporium for cheaper.

That would be my suggestion. It is a great sounding pedal.

+1 on the MXR Carbon Copy.

Had a few others, including modded AD9 and only used them here and there. Since picking up the Carbon Copy, I use it on things I never even considered delay for. Worth the price and then some!

I own an EH #1 echo and while I believe it is digital and analog voiced I find it is a very very nice delay for the price. Very warm sounding but still very clean on the repeats. :D

Nobody laugh but I have had an El Cheapo Behringer Vintage delay that has hung around my place for 6 months....that is saying something. Sounds great and is quite. Analogish in tone as well....

I was just going to ask a similar question.

My local shop has a Keeley modded (TB and indefinite repeats?) AD-9 for $135. I was thinking about that or the Carbon Copy (or perhaps a EH Memory Man).

    Advice/experience?

if you can get past the fact that it's actually digital, the Ibanez EM5 is astonishingly good--better than almost any analog delay in the price range.

A modded First Act delay is actually very good! Takes about 10 minutes and .05 to mod it!

Cmatmods Deeelay is also supposed to be very good for $139. Oops...it's digital, voiced like analog.
